I've raced bikes, designed rocket engines and for the last 25 years ran product, engineering and services functions at five startups. After Guidewire's IPO (NYSE: GWRE), I wanted to solve a problem that otherwise wouldn't get solved. A hockey helmet to reduce concussions used by my son (and the San Jose Sharks) was a 10x product but prohibitively expensive to produce with traditional manufacturing techniques. And that was the genesis of KAV - a range of life saving products, digitized manufacturing and a more scalable, sustainable way to do business.
