This is a special week for us. We’re closing Fund I this week AND dropping an unprecedented episode tonight at 7pm Eastern.
This is one of those moments where I’m forced to stop and reflect on how far we’ve come. When we first announced the fund in November 2022 on episode 101 we really had no idea what we were doing. No idea!
We just thought it would be cool to let listeners invest in the companies on our show and we wondered if listeners felt the same.
It was a test! And a lot of our early LPs knew it.
I advised many listeners to only invest a dollar amount that would keep things fun. I didn’t want people sweating bullets while listening to the show!
Fast forward to 2024 and you’ve probably noticed that we’re not treating the fund like a test anymore. We really believe that The Pitch Fund has the potential to be one of those institutions that consistently churns out top tier returns.
At this point it’s just a hunch based on the data we’ve seen and the conviction we have about each of the founders in our portfolio… but it feels very real.
Like we’re at the intersection of something really special. And an inflection point we’ll look back on fondly in a decade.
Anyways… I’m waxing too nostalgic now. Sorry about that! Working on this season finale has forced me to stop and reflect.
I think the thing I want to say the most is thank you.

You were the true believers in us before anyone else. You were the first to listen to the show, first to trust us, first to reach out and invest in us.
And it’s real money. $5.7M so far!
I know it’s a small first fund. But for us it’s a big deal. That money is very real. And those “small” $50-100k checks are very real to the founders we invest in.
Okay I need to stop. I just wanted to say you all are the best.
